Although Spring might be a welcomed season for many, not everyone has an smooth time transitioning into the brighter, windier, more ambitious energy the season brings.
This session is intended to be a rejuvenating and restful experience blending the therapeutic modalities of restorative yoga, soothing pranayama practices and yoga Nidra to feel and rest into your internal season of Spring and support your body’s response to the change of season.
During this class you will be thoughtfully guided through a restorative sequence and offered the chance to completely surrender and rest into the trusted support of bolsters, blankets, and blocks.
My intention for this extended two-hour class is that you leave our time together feeling held, cared for and deeply nourished from within.
___________
Restorative Yoga is incredibly therapeutic on a cellular, physical, and emotional level. It specifically works to help soften and unwind your physical body while rebalancing the nervous system and working towards creating a calm and supportive internal environment.
Yoga Nidra, often referred to as Yogic Sleep or Sleepless Sleep, is an ancient practice intended to take you deeper into an altered state of awareness — the state between asleep and awake — where you’re fully conscious but your body is fully at rest and ease.
You’ll be guided from the Beta brain wave state - this is where we vibrate during most of everyday life - into surfing the liminal space between the Alpha and Theta brain wave states. It’s here that restoration and healing can take place on a cellular level.
___________
It’s suggested to wear comfortable clothing and to dress and layers — as the body goes into the liminal state of deep rest and can tend to cool down. If you enjoy using an eye pillow, bring that along as well.
